Gordana Trebješanin was born in 1979 in a tiny South-European and Mediterenean country Montenegro. Art enabled her to share her work and love for art at exhibitions in different countries around the world: Montenegro, Serbia, Greece, North Macedonia...
She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts-University of Montenegro in Cetinje in the class of professor Dragan Karadžić where she obtained a Master’s degree as well.
In addition to preparing exhibitions, Gordana works as an art teacher in High School Slobodan Škerović in Podgorica. She enjoys taking her students to small and charming cities and villages, telling them about their history and culture and teaching them to love art and the wonderful atmosphere of those charming places.
Gordana currently lives with her family in a small village close to the country’s capital Podgorica. Besides creating her paintings in her atelier, she loves producing her art in her garden as well.
She is a member of The Association of Fine Artists of Montenegro (AFAM) and a mom to Konstantin and Radmila.
The Lake Skadar is her internal inspiration, specifically village Dodoši and one atelier, where she used to paint while her then love of her life and her current husband played the guitar…In addition to nature, her inspirations are interesting cities and humans interacting with those cities and nature. She used to visit Africa twice and that made her do a few very vivid and exotic exhibitions, representing colorful and intensive life on that continent. As most artists, Gordana really finds inspiration in everyday life, or better said, everyday emotions, impressions, people and places somehow show up on her canvas.
